Australia & New Zealand

Both countries decide online and grant the visa electronically — there's no sticker in your passport. Both also want to see a properly planned trip, not just a set of bookings.

Everyone travelling

Required regardless of what you do for a living.

  • Scanned copies of old passports help too — previous travel to Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the US or Schengen countries counts strongly in your favour.

  • Required for New Zealand and useful for Australia. 35 mm × 45 mm, plain light background, taken within the last 6 months. Full details in the photograph specification below.

  • We arrange thisA reservation is enough. Don't purchase before the visa is granted.

  • We arrange this

  • We prepare thisBoth countries weigh this heavily, particularly for a self-drive or multi-island trip. Long unexplained gaps invite questions.

  • If you are travelling on business, this goes on your company letterhead and must state your name, passport number, the purpose of travel, and the passport details of everyone travelling with you.

Money and tax

Proof that you can fund the trip and that you have reason to return home.

  • We recommend showing a closing balance of at least ₹4,00,000 per person . This is our guidance from experience, not a published requirement. A consistent balance reads better than a recent deposit.

  • D-Mat account statements, LIC policies, mutual funds, fixed deposits, property papers. Include anything you've mentioned on the application form.

  • Recommended

Proof of what you do

Your ties to India.

  • On company letterhead, signed, confirming your position, approved leave dates and continued employment.

  • Required if children are accompanying you during term time.

  • See the sponsor section below.

Depending on your situation

  • If travelling with your spouse

  • For each child travelling

  • If a child travels with one parent only

A few things that catch people out

  • Neither country puts a sticker in your passport. Your approval arrives by email and is linked electronically to the passport you applied with — so if you renew that passport before you fly, tell us immediately.
  • Australia may ask for a health examination or a police certificate depending on your history and how long you plan to stay.
  • New Zealand requires an NZeTA and an International Visitor Levy for eligible travellers, which is separate from the visitor visa. We'll tell you which route applies to you.

Photograph specification

  • 35 mm wide × 45 mm high, taken within the last 6 months.
  • Studio photograph on a plain light-grey or white background. No selfies, no scans of printed photos.
  • Full face, straight to camera, neutral expression, mouth closed, eyes open and clearly visible.
  • Head and shoulders in frame, evenly lit, no shadows and no red-eye.
  • No headgear unless worn daily for religious reasons, and it must not obscure the face.
  • No sunglasses. Ordinary spectacles are best removed to avoid any glare.
  • For online submission, supply the digital file as well as prints — typically JPEG, under 10 MB.

If someone in Australia or New Zealand is inviting or funding your trip

Only needed when a relative or friend there is hosting you or covering part of your costs. Everything here comes from your sponsor.

  • Stating the purpose of your visit, their relationship to you, how long you'll stay, and which expenses they will cover.

  • Residence permit, permanent residency evidence, or citizenship certificate.

  • Birth certificate, marriage certificate, or family registration document.

  • Stating their position, salary and length of service. If self-employed, business registration plus proof of income instead.

  • Notice of Assessment in Australia, or the IRD income summary in New Zealand.

  • Rental agreement or property ownership papers. If they will not be hosting you, a hotel booking instead.

  • Optional

Doing both countries in one trip?

Two separate visas, two separate files, one itinerary that has to make sense to both. We handle that combination regularly — send us your dates and we'll map it out.
